Community members, family and friends of Western Washington University students may sign up for Western Alert, Western's emergency response notification system.
New users should register by clicking on the "Register" link in the upper right. All Western employees, students and parents who have provided their information to WWU already are in the system. However, Western Alerts are not generally sent to all parents.
Western Alert messages are sent in the event of an emergency to the e-mail addresses and/or cell phones (via text message) of those on the notification list.
By providing your cell phone number you agree to incur costs for received text messages or telephone notifications. WWU will send Western Alert notification messages only in the event of emergency or a test of the system. The system does not charge subscribers to send or receive SMS messages, but standard or other messaging charges may apply, depending on your wireless carrier plan and subscription details. Once registered, you may opt out of SMS messages at any time by texting STOP to 67283 or 226787.
